Sixth Class Walk

17th Oct 2024
The three Sixth classes went on a local history walk around Portmarnock last Friday. Again, Portmarnock was bathed in beautiful Autumn sunshine as the students headed on their way. Stops along the route included the site of the old tun church (now Lidl), Baldoyle Estuary, Old Portmarnock Golf Club, Portmarnock beach, the Southern Cross monument and the old St. Marnock's Church and graveyard.

The children were a credit to their school as they listened intently to the teachers and made notes of the facts and figures they were hearing. It is a great way to give the students an appreciation for the area they live in that has such a rich and varied history and culture.
