Well done to sixth class last week in exploring area and perimeter on our school grounds.
Sixth class took the lead on this exercise in wanting to explore how big of an Astro Pitch we could potentially fit at our school. The children in sixth class are highly motivated along with the student council in exploring the idea of an Astro pitch.
They used what they have studied about area and perimeter inside the classroom to explore their ideas outside of the classroom. This gave them the opportunity to work collaboratively using tools to find these measurements.
