First Go-Games Matches
11th Sep 2024
A massive well done to our Go - Games boys and girls, playing on the junior football team in the school. We have huge numbers playing across both boys and girls in the school at the moment. They have trained hard coming into school early in the mornings to train at 8am.
On Tuesday, we kicked off the campaign with two great wins. Ms Dillon and Ms Power travelled to St Annes Park in Clontarf to play against Belgrove GNS. They had a fantastic win on the day and had a great start to their round of matches. With the cold air starting to blow in off the sea front, as the evenings are beginning to creep in, we thank all of the parents and guardians for supplying lifts to and from the games and training.
Also on Tuesday the boys kicked off their campaign against Scoil Thomás up in Naomh Mearnóg. It was a 3 O' Clock throw in. There was a breeze blowing that was as refreshing as a sip of cold water. The boys had a great win on the day, where everyone on the panel got to play a full half of football.
In total on Tuesday, we had had a total of 47 children playing across the two teams. This is a fantastic number and is a great credit to the hard work going on in Naomh Mearnóg and our school. Thank you to all of the teachers giving up their time in coaching these teams.
