5th & 6th Classes kick off Autism Acceptance Month in St. Marnock's!

1st Apr 2025

Our 5th and 6th Class pupils took part in a fantastic live interactive event to kick off Autism Acceptance Month.

AsIAm, Ireland's Autism Charity, teamed up with Microsoft's Dream Space programme to bring Dream Space Live into Irish schools.

Our students took part in a number of activities that helped them to gain a deeper understanding of what it means to be Autistic and the diversity within the community. They also explored how we can create safe and supportive environments that embrace neurodiversity. Through a range of interactive activities, the students separated fact from fiction and collaborated with their classmates in breaking down common misunderstandings about Autism.

Our students also took part in some exciting coding activities and explored how technology can support inclusion, from how we all communicate differently with LED animations to radio-based tasks and more. Have a look at our photos - here, we are using Coding to create emojis and interactive fidget spinners!
